Hear what your customers will hear

Things to try when you call

Talk to her like a real customer. She can handle a lot more than a script.

• Tell her what is wrong, like your AC is blowing warm air or your water heater quit. See how fast she gets you a time.
• Ask if she is a real person. She will tell you the truth.
• Give her a name and a phone number and listen to how she reads it back.
• Ask hard questions. What does it cost? Do you cover my city? Can someone come tonight? What if I am not home?
• Try to trip her up. Change your mind halfway through. Say you want tomorrow instead of today. Interrupt her. Talk over her and see if she keeps up.
• On the HVAC or plumbing line, say you smell gas and see what she does. On the plumbing line, say a pipe burst and water is everywhere.
• Ask to talk to the owner and see who picks up.
